Can we all just admit that fat acceptance is really a branch of the feminist movement or are we going to keep pretending that FA also helps men?
a FA sent me a message that since men are not oppressed, men don’t need body positivity or body acceptance.
A delicious fuck-ton of various male/female corporeal juxtapositions.
[From various sources]
I really hate this attitude that especially tumblr has, that you absolutely with no exceptions HAVE TO like (or more like love and worship and tell about it every five second) female characters, especially if they are physically strong. And if someone hears even one negative opinion towards a character that is a woman, they make a huge tumblr post on how sexist everyone is because they don’t like someone’s favourite character. I am a woman, and I have female characters that I like. I also have female characters that I don’t care for, and even those that I dislike or can’t stand. Even in the real world there are usually going to be women you like and women you don’t like.
Other reason why this bothers me is that very often these “strong” female characters people fawn over are just that, “strong”. That’s their personality. To be physically stronger than men. I just find that disturbing, a woman being “stronger” than men doesn’t make her better than other women, especially if that’s all she is. There is more to strong than physical. I think these people are just so insecure and obsessed to outdo men that they forget that women come with different backstories and strengths.
In short, people should be allowed to dislike both male and female characters and criticise them.
Don’t let the media warp your perception of beauty. Beauty is pizza.
Yet another unrealistic goal for women smh. -.-
